Secretary RTA starts signature campaign to sensitize people on voting rights

Move aimed at ensuring maximum participation of voters in the ensuing polls 

 

 JALANDHAR: Taking a unique initiative for sensitizing the voters about the need to exercise their franchise during the upcoming general elections, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary-cum-Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Jalandhar Cantonment Constituency Dr Nayan Jassal has started a signature drive at the RTA office.

Divulging the details, the Secretary RTA said that a flex has been put at the RTA office with voter pledge that the voters would exercise their franchise without any fear. She said that people coming to the RTA office were being sensitized and motivated to take part in this campaign. Dr. Jassal said that the aim was to ensure maximum participation of the voters in the coming polls.  

The Secretary RTA said that the administration was laying thrust to generate awareness amongst the masses regarding their voting rights so that people could exercise their franchise enthusiastically. She said that every effort would be made to ensure that all the voters actively participate in the coming polls. Dr. Jassal said that special thrust was being laid on encouraging the young and PWD voters to come out and cast their vote during the polls adding that in initiative was also s a part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program,
