'Educated children' to be the befitting tributes to Dr. Ambekar: Khattak

SDM Fazilka, district officials and representatives of social organizations paid floral tributes to the father of Indian Constitution

 

 Fazilka: Ensuring Higher education to your children would be the befitting tributes to the father of Indian Constitution Bharat Rattan Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 128th birth anniversary. It was strongly urged by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Fazilka Subhash Chandar Khattak, while addressing the gathering during district level function to mark the Ambedkar Jayanti in district administrative complex here today. Khattak along with officials of various departments and representatives of social organizations paid floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar.

 

Throwing the light on various aspects of the life of the Dr. Ambedkar, the chief guest Khattak said that ''the first law minister of India might be able to counter the then society because of the education, he had achieved at that time, when the country was in the clutches of slavery". He informed that Dr. Ambedkar was Master of Arts in five subjects and bestowed upon the degrees in Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science, Doctor of Law, Doctor of Literature, Bar at Law and much more and because of this higher education, he could fought against social evils to ensure the fundamental rights to the underprivileged society.

In his address, Gazetted/Non-Gazetted SC/BC Employees Federation Chairman Thakur Das described the contribution of Baba Saheb to empower the female and briefed about work and initiation of scholarships scheme of overseas universities in the name of Dr. Ambedkar.

Giving a clarion call to the weaker sections of the society, the District Education Coordinator Pammi Singh said that people should empower their children with higher education so that the governments should themselves offer appropriate jobs at par with the academic skills of the children.

Earlier, Ms. Sarabjit Kaur, Class XII student of Government Senior Secondary School, village Lalo Wali presented the poem title ''Bada Shor Painda Gharibaan de vehre" of Punjabi poet Gurdas Ram Alam. In the end, District Welfare Officer Barinder Singh thanked the people to join district administration on this auspicious occasion.
