Shahkot misses revenue target in fourth quarter, misses annual target

SHAHKOT: The government has failed to meet its lowered stamp -duty collection target in the district. A sum of over Rs 96.78 Lakhs were  collected during the fourth  quarter of the financial year in Shahkot tehsil against a set target of Rs 2crore.

Jalandhar deputy commissioner has fixed a stamp duty collection target of Rs Rs`206 crores for the district which was Rs 200 crores last year.  Shahkot was  targeted to collect Rs 2 crore in the fourth  quarter and Rs 8 crores during the financial year but it collected over Rs 3.84 crores in the  financial year. Stamp duty collection target for Shahkot tehsil was  higher for financial year 2018-2019 as fixed last year which was Rs 6 crores.
