Chaudhary promises more flights from Adampur, to be converted as International Airport in the years to come

 ADAMAPUR (JALANDHAR): Claiming that it was due to his efforts that dream of Adampur Airport came true, Congress Candidate Chaudhary Santokh Singh today promised that if voted to power, more flights from Adampur Airport would start and in the years to come it would be converted into an International Airport on the lines of Guru Ram Dass ji Airport of Amritsar.

 

“Adampur Airport has become operational due to our efforts and now if voted to power, Congress will not only start more flights from here but also, make it an international airport in the years to come”, Chaudhary said while addressing the massive gathering at Adampur assembly segment and assured that very soon the name of the Adampur Airport would also be changed as “Guru Ravi Dass Ji Airport”.

 

 

He said Congress Government is committed to revive ailing Sugar Mills in the state and from June onwards the oldest Sugar Mill of Bhogpur would be completely modernized with the installation of new sugar plant with an investment of Rs 115 crore.

 

“The blueprint for the modernization of the oldest sugar mill has already been rolled out the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and by June this year, a new sugar plant with the capacity of 3000 TCD would be installed by spending Rs 115 crore”, Chaudhary Santokh Singh, accompanied by former MP and Senior Congress leader Mohinder Singh Kay Pee said while addressing a massive gatherings at the villages Laroi, Bhatnura Lubana, Patial, Bhattian, Rastgo, Gehlaran, Kingra, Kohja, Salala, Kala Bakra and Preet Palace of Bhogpur Block of Adampur.

 

 

Congress would ensure that farmers should get the right value for their produce and a new modernized sugar mill the project at the cooperative sugar mill, Bhogpur would commence by June 2019 having 3000 TCD and 15 Megawatt (MW) as the unique features, he added.


Chaudhary said that out of the 15 MW power generation, about 8.5 MW would be sold to the Punjab State Power Corporation. Not only the sugarcane growers would be benefitted from the Mill, but it would generate more employment opportunities for the youth of this area.

 

“We understand the woes of cane growers, who usually complain of getting the dues late”, Chaudhary said promising to make a reliable and transparent mechanism, so that farmers should get them adequate dues on time.

 

Kay Pee, while addressing the gathering assured Chaudhary of massive victory margin for him from Adampur assembly segment and said people have already made up their minds to oust the Modi Sarkar by pressing the button of Congress on EVM on May 19.

 

 Claiming that wherever Congress government took over – be it Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh or Chhatisgarh, it gave priority to give relief to the farmers by loan waiver, Congress Candidate vowed that if voted to power, Congress would bring the “real Achche Din” for agriculture sector through a proposed special “Kisan Budget”.

 

Congress has already promised for Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme, under which an amount of up to Rs 72,000 per year would be directly transferred in the accounts of a woman member of the poor family, Chaudhary said claiming that this is not the promise like Modi’s ‘Chunavi Jumla’, rather the concrete policy, rolled out after the series of brainstorming sessions of the renowned economists of the country.

 

Moreover, where is Rs 15 lakh, which Modi promised to deposit in everybody’s account by bringing back black money from Swiss Bank? Chaudhary quipped.

 

Chaudhary assured the gathering that if voted to power, Congress would present a separate "Kisan" budget to ensure priority to issues affecting the agriculture sector.
