'Red Carpet Welcome' To Be Given To Electorates At Model Polling Booths In SBS Nagar- ADC Anupam Kler

35 Polling Booths To Be Model Including Three With All Women Staff

Selfie Stands, Waiting Area, Voter Facilitation Counter, Welcome Flexes Among The Major Attractions At Model Polling Booths

 NAWANSHAHR: District Administration SBS Nagar is all set to give 'Red Carpet Welcome' to electorates,  who will come to exercise their franchise at 35 model polling booths being set up in the district on the polling day i.e. May 19. Out of these, three model polling stations to have women staff only with pink or purple tentage outside the booth.

Divulging details, Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Nodal Officer SVEEP Mrs. Anupam Kler said, here today,  that the voters at these model polling stations would be provided with the various facilities including decorative welcome gate, proper signage, covered area with carpets from entrance to booth, voter facilitation counter, volunteers for assistant, drinking Water, polling staff with proper identification tags, decoration of booth with balloons, flexes, kindergarten section with toys for the wards of women voters, selfie points and waiting area with sitting arrangements. 

She added that this time Wheel Chairs and Queue Management Volunteers have been deputed at all other booths too. As many as 461 volunteers have been deputed for the help of 4723 PwD voters besides 4 volunteers less than the age of 18 at each booth.  

The polling booths where women staff to be deputed include Government Senior Secondary School Nawanshahr (One booth), Government Primary School Khandupur and Government Senior Secondary School Aur (One booth). Apart from that, Nawanshahr constituency have nine model polling booths, Balachaur 13 and Banga 10 booths. 

Apart from these, rest of the polling stations/booths falling in the district would also be adhered with direction signals, voter assistance booth, drinking water and special attention to blind/infirm/elderly voters, pregnant and lactating mothers etc., she went on add.

Similarly the voters who will be the first amongst PwD, Transgender, NRI category and first time voters (18-19) at each booth, would also be given appreciation certificates.
