592 Polling Parties Dispatched For Polling Booths In The District

In Nawanshahr – 196, in Banga- 206 and in Balachaur – 190 Polling booths

NAWANSHAHR: As many as 592 polling parties equipped with EVMs, VVPATs and election-related material have been dispatched for their respective polling booths set up for conducting polling in Nawanshahr, Banga and Balachaur assembly segments falling under Sri Anandpur Sahib parliamentary constituency, here today.

The District Electoral Officer Cum Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Bublani after reviewing the arrangements at various dispatch centres, said that the polling for the Lok  Sabha polls will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 19. The voter slips have already been distributed amongst the voters at their doorsteps by the concerned BLOs. 

 

“The 35 polling model polling booths would be set up in the district while three model polling booths would be managed by women staff. Besides, all the polling booths have been provided with the drinking water facility and queue management system for the convenience of the voters”, said the DC adding that as many as 296 polling booths had been brought under Webcasting (live monitoring) and micro observers had been deputed at 150 polling booths and video recording at 40 polling booths would be done. Besides, 280 polling booths identified as sensitive and one of them critical would be manned by Para Military Forces.

 

The DC appealed the electorates to participate in the mega festival of democracy by casting their votes. The voters who will be the first amongst PwD, Transgender, NRI category and first-time voters (18-19) at each booth, would also be given appreciation certificates.

At Banga election-related material to 206 polling parties given for  Banga assembly segment, while for Nawanshahr as many as 196 polling parties dispatched. In Balachaur Constituency, a total of 190 polling parties dispatched for respective polling booths.
