Under the Punjab Government’s flagship anti-drug initiative “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, the MunicipalCorporation Jalandhar, in coordination with the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, carried out a decisive action today by demolishing an illegal construction linked to a notorious drug trafficker in the Indira Colony area. Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur informed that the illegal structure belonging to Mukesh Ram alias Dhoni, son of Mishra Ram, resident of Street No. 7, Indira Colony, Jalandhar — an infamous drug trafficker — was demolished today. The accused, Mukesh Ram Dhoni, has 9 FIRs registered against him under the NDPS Act and Excise Act at Police Stations Division No. 1 and Division No. 2, Jalandhar. Of these, he was also convicted in three cases. She reaffirmed the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police's commitment to completely dismantling the drug network and appealed to citizens to share any information related to drug activities through the Government’s WhatsApp number 9779-100-200, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
City residents appreciated this initiative by the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, terming it a significant step in Punjab’s ongoing fight to make the state drug-free.
